-- Leading-edge Loudspeaker and Room Correction Technology Employed for Critical Audio Mastering --

DEQX Pty Limited today announced the sale of three PDC-2.6 Digital Calibration Processors to the world-renowned Abbey Road Studios, London. The three DEQX CalibratedT PDC-2.6 processors are configured to improve the room acoustics in one of Abbey Road's mastering/remastering suites, correcting low frequency issues while smoothing the overall response and improving imaging.

Peter Mew, Senior Mastering Engineer, Abbey Road StudiosThe suite at Abbey Road was recently upgraded for 5.1 surround applications with the installation of Dynaudio's Air Series surround monitors. The three PDC-2.6 units have digital outputs which feed the Air's directly. There is notable improvement in transparency and accuracy when the DEQX units are switched in. Peter Mew, Senior Mastering Engineer at Abbey Road, explains "We are mainly using DEQX CalibratedT for fine tuning the low frequency issues of the room because the Dynaudio's already incorporate internal DSP processing to provide anechoic accuracy."

Commenting on the sale, Kim Ryrie, CEO DEQX Pty Ltd said "Audio mastering is a demanding process that requires a high degree of loudspeaker accuracy. DEQX is the only correction system that allows both anechoic and room calibration with phase correction and crossovers for individual drivers if necessary. This allows a consistency of realism and accuracy that has not been available until now."
